“Touch of Grey” was inspired by the iconic song of the same name by the Grateful Dead. This artwork describes and captures the essence of the songs message, emphasizing the themes of tenacity, resilience, and finding the silver lining in every situation.

The painting aims to capture the timeless essence of feminine beauty, transcending the constraints of age. I embraced a monochromatic palette dominated by shades of grey to honor the song. 

The meaning behind “Touch of Grey” lies in its celebration of the human spirit, and its ability to persevere. The grateful dead performed the song a year after Jerry Garcia was hospitalized for a drug overdose and was in an induced coma. It is believed that Jerry wrote this song to not only represent his own shades of gray, but also his inner struggles.
